In this document, we will provide an introduction to Samsung Download mode, explaining its purpose, functions, and how to access it on your device.

What is download (ODIN) mode?

Download mode (ODIN) is a feature specifically designed for Samsung devices, regardless of the chipset they use. It is supported across all Samsung models and allows for tasks such as firmware updates, software repairs, and device recovery.

How can I connect my Samsung device in modem mode?

To connect your Samsung device in Download mode, follow these steps:

1. Power Off Your Device: Turn off your Samsung device completely.

2. Enter Download Mode:

  •  For most models: Press and hold the Volume Down button, Bixby button (if available), and the Power button simultaneously.
  • For devices without a Bixby button: Press and hold the Volume Down and Power buttons simultaneously.

3. Confirm Entering Download Mode: Once the warning screen appears, press the **Volume Up** button to confirm and enter Download mode.

4. Connect to a Computer: Use a USB cable to connect your device to your computer. Your device should now be in Download mode, ready for tasks such as firmware updates or software repairs.

To exit Download mode, press and hold the Power button until the device restarts.

What can I do in download mode?

In download (ODIN) mode, Chimera software provides a range of features. You can use the "Remove FRP" function to bypass Factory Reset Protection (FRP), allowing you to regain full access to your device without needing the original Google account credentials after a reset, depending on your device’s security patch level. The "Device Info" feature lets you view key details about your device, such as its model and software version. Additionally, you can perform software updates to fix a bricked device or to install specific firmware, helping to restore or enhance your device's functionality.
